Basics of network security. Students are introduced to the goals of IT security, common threats and countermeasures including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS) and virtual private networks. Several operating environments will be studied as examples. Also includes a section on computer ethics. Includes: Experiential Learning Activity
